Conversation: personal questions

A dialog to ask about nationality, marital status, job, family, etc.

After several lessons explaining how to ask all these personal questions individually, we will put everything in a single conversation between two people, with some new characters to enrich our vocabulary.


Conversation: Chinese personal questions



你好大卫!你是哪国人?
Nǐ hǎo Dàwèi! Nǐ shì nǎ guórén?
Hello David! Where are you from?

你好!我是法国人
Nǐ hǎo! Wǒ shì fàguó rén
Hello! I am French

你结婚了吗?
Nǐ jiéhūnle ma?
Are you married?

你们做什么工作?
Nǐmen zuò shénme gōngzuò?
What do you do?

我是工程师,我太太是作者
Wǒ shì gōngchéngshī, wǒ tàitài shì zuòzhě
I'm an engineer, my wife is writer

你们有孩子吗? 
Nǐmen yǒu háizi ma?
Do you have children?


有一个儿子和一个女儿 
Yǒu yī gè erzi hé yī gè nǚ'ér
We have a son and a daughter


他们今年几岁了? 
Tāmen jīnnián jǐ suì le?
How old are they?


儿子七岁,女儿五岁 
Érzi qī suì, nǚ'ér wǔ suì
He is seven years old, she is five years old


他们学习什么? 
Tāmen xuéxí shénme?
What are they studying?

他每天去小学生学习 
Tā měitiān qù xiǎoxuéshēng xuéxí
They go every day to primary school to study
