Grammar: Omission of structural particle 的

Previously we studied the use of structural particle 的 to indicate possession, but to not complicate the lesson we didn't mention when we can omit the use of this particle.

The omission is done (and it is very common to omit) when the noun being modified is a substantive with relationship to the subject (family, home...) or it references a collective, group, association, etc.
