Substantive predicate sentence

The substantive predicate sentence is a sentence in which the predicate has no verb so it consists of a noun or noun phrase.





subject + noun or noun phrase

这房子两百平方米
Zhè fángzi liǎng bǎi píngfāng mǐ 
This house has two hundred square meters

今天好天气
Jīntiān hǎo tiānqì
Good weather today


The negative form is built with 不是 (bùshì) structure before the noun or noun phrase.



subject + 不是 + noun or noun phrase

这房子不是两百平方米
Zhè fángzi bùshì liǎng bǎi píngfāng mǐ
This house hasn't two hundred square meters

今天不是好天气
Jīntiān bùshì hǎo tiānqì
Not good weather today
